Vintage and Traditions

I am the proud owner of a Singer Featherweight.  Her name is Abigail and she was feeling a little under the weather.  My husband and I had oiled her and cleaned her and she was making a clinking noise.  I took her to a friend of mine that collects sewing machines.  Found out when we put her back together after cleaning her we didn't have something in the bobbin case area lined up...she is back to her royal self.  Abigail reminds me of my Grandma Eva..she has weathered many seasons and is still willing to work hard.  My Grandma sewed all of my cousins dresses for my wedding, she hand quilted, and she made braided rugs.  I remember rolls and rolls of polyester material in her home that she would use to braid those rugs.  I don't have any of her rugs and I don't know where they all went but I have the memories.  So when you create think of the reasons you love your art and have a wonderful day.

Abigail is beautiful! I am wanting a featherweight, but would love to find it rather than just purchase on eBay, but I may just have to if the urge gets too bad!
